William Patrick Kelly

William (“Bill”) Kelly September 9, 1941 – August 18, 2022. The world is a little dimmer without the light of our husband, father, and grandfather, who passed away surrounded by his family at his home in Pennington, NJ. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years Nancy Kelly, M.D., his children Patrick (Jim Nicolay), William (Diana del Valle), and Christopher (Sarah van den Bosch Kelly), his niece Victoria Kelly Dettra (Glenn Dettra), and his grandchildren Ryan, Sofia, Elizabeth, James and Jack. He is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Mary, and his brother Kevin. Bill was larger than life, and had close friends from every stage of his life, from his grammar school at Blessed Sacrament on the Upper West Side, to Archbishop Molloy High School, to the College of The Holy Cross, to Fordham Law School, and throughout his long career at American Home Products (later Wyeth). He loved to sail, he loved Smith & Wollensky’s, he loved his countless visits to Ireland and his time in Briny Breezes, FL, but most of all, he loved to be with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was always the last to leave any party, making it even stranger that he is not here to celebrate a life so richly lived.
