Hopewell , William Hellewell, 80, died on Wednesday in the Pavilions at Forrestal . Born in Philadelphia, he had been a resident of Hopewell for the past 42 years. He served overseas with the US Army during the Korean War. Bill was employed by the Department of Enviromental Protection, State of New Jersey. for 20 years. He was a member and former Commander of American Legion Post 339, a former member of the Whitehorse Fire Company and attended St. Alphonsus Church in Hopewell. Bill enjoyed being a member of the Hopewell Valley Leisure Club, the Rocky Hill 76er's and the Montgomery Seniors. Son of the late Evelyn and Arthur Hellewell, and brother of the late Lois Fagella and Robert Hellewell, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Claire DelleMonache Hellewell, a niece, Dawn Brocco-Fagella and her two children, a niece and her husband, Barbara Cromwell and J. Hart Cromwell and a sister-in-law, Carmela DelleMonache. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church, 54 East Prospect St.,Hopewell, interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
