Rev. James L. Hofacker of Point Pleasant Beach, age 65.
James was a retired United Methodist pastor who served parishes in Monmouth, Mercer, and Ocean Counties. He is survived by beloved family including two sons and daughter-in-law, Brian and Annemarie and Mark, two grandchildren, Andrew and Meghan; sister, Barb Bengtson and her husband Tom, nephews and niece, Bradley, Scott, Thomas and Jeanne. Also, aunt, Jean Hofacker, and cousins, Joan, Eugene, George, Fritz, Dena, and Delaney. He enjoyed al large circle of diverse and devoted friends and was especially proud of his “Point Pleasant Beach family”.
Jim enjoyed all that the Jersey shore offered including boating, fishing, and clamming. He jokingly referred to the shore as paradise. Jim served two terms as a member of the Stafford Township Council and was an active member of the Point Pleasant Beach First Aid and Emergency Squad.
A memorial service will be held at the Pennington United Methodist Church, 60 South Main St., Pennington NJ on Saturday March 26, 2016 at 11:00am . Internment of cremains will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the mission fund of the Pennington United Methodist Church.
