Robert Huntsinger

Robert "Bob" Ray Huntsinger, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2024; just short of two days before his 95th birthday, at Serenity Hospice Care, Hamilton, NJ. Born and raised in Camden, NJ, Bob graduated from Camden High School in 1949. He joined the military as a U.S Naval Air Reservist in 1950 and served until 1958. During that time he was stationed at Willow Grove Air Force Base, in Willow Grove, PA. Bob worked several jobs including being a longshoreman and truck driver, but especially enjoyed his career as a security officer while working in Cherry Hill, NJ at JFK Memorial Hospital and Camden County Community College. He retired from the latter in 2011 and began caring for his wife, Frances, until her death in 2022.

His hobbies included dancing and listening to Frank Sinatra, as well as being a loyal and passionate fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. Bob played football in his early years as a running back and was even scouted by his beloved Philadelphia Eagles, and was also a track star in high school. Bob's athleticism seemed to add years to his life and contributed towards his positive attitude.

Bob was predeceased by his parents Charles Huntsinger and Jennie (Smith) DiLorenzo, and brothers George, Walter, and Charles. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Carl Ippolito, grandchildren Joseph, Carla, and Sarah, and son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Marlene Huntsinger. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Barbara DiLorenzo and sister and brother-in-law Carolyn and Anthony Bonacquisti.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon on Monday, November 25th at Christ Our Light Roman Catholic Church, 402 N. Kings Highway, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. The viewing will take place before the mass from 10:00am-11:45am the same day. The burial will be at Locust Wood Cemetery, 1500 Rt. 70 W, Cherry Hill, NJ, 08002.
