Mildred G. Ingenbrandt, of Pennington, NJ, daughter of Willamena Metzger Gunning and J. Russell Gunning, passed away April 2, 2016 at the age of 97. She is recently preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, George W. Ingenbrandt (March 27, 2016). She is survived by her daughter Connie Condict, husband E. Carroll, two granddaughters: Jackie Condict and Meredith Herbert, and husband Jeff.
Mildred was born in Trenton, NJ and graduated from Trenton High School in 1936. She attended Trenton State College, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught for many years at Grant School in Trenton. She then returned to college to fulfill her dream of becoming a librarian and was an elementary librarian for the Hopewell Valley Regional School District for many years.
She and George were very active at Trinity Cathedral in Trenton where Mildred was a Sunday school teacher and the President of the Women of Trinity for many years. In recent years they switched their membership to St. Luke’s in Newtown, PA. She was a volunteer at the information desk at Mercer Hospital for many years and a member of the Women’s Club of Pennington.
Mildred’s interests included entertaining, collecting recipes and cookbooks, doing crossword puzzles, caring for her house plants, and her love of animals.
Mildred died exactly one week after her beloved husband, George. They did not suffer and will remain together for eternity.
There will be a private burial service and a Memorial Service for the public will be held Saturday, April 9th at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Newtown, PA at 10am.
