Pennington. Mary Josephine Van Marter, 103, passed away on Friday in Capital Health at Hopewell, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Clifden, County, and Galway, Ireland on September 2, 1910, she had come to this county as a teenager.She lived in Princeton for many years before moving to Pennington last year to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She did private duty nursing in the Princeton area for many years. She was a member of the Golden Agers of St. Paul's Church, Princeton and volunteered at the soup kitchen for many years. Wife of the late Raymond D. Van Marter, she is survived by her daughter, Mary(Salvatore) Mistretta of Pennington, and two sons, Raymond J.(Patricia) Van Marter of Little River, South Carolina and John H. (Elizabeth) Van Marter of West Trenton, four grandchildren, Vincent(Tory) Mistretta, Bridget(Jason) Lee, Shannon Van Marter and Jesse Van Marter and three great grandchildren, Bailey Caldwell and Caroline and Griffin Lee. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m. from St. James Church, 115 East Delaware Ave., Pennington. Interment will be in Lawrenceville Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at the Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 N. Main St., Pennington.
