Mark Belleman Rockey

Mark Belleman Rockey, 66, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27th with his family by his side.

Raised in Pennington, NJ, Mark was the second eldest in a dynamic family of eight children. Growing up he was an avid soccer, tennis, and basketball player and his wildly exuberant personality and competitive spirit endured throughout his life. Mark’s childhood was filled with many of the joys of small town life where he made countless lifelong friendships.

A graduate of Hopewell Valley Central High School, Mark attended Vanderbilt University where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and graduated with a double major in Psychology and Business Administration. He then went on to receive his MBA at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

After many joyous years in the South, Mark moved to Boston to pursue a career in the financial industry which took him on a wild ride to live in many places across the country. It was at his 20th high school reunion where he reconnected with former classmate Deborah Barlow that ultimately brought him back home. A year later the two were married and began a family, having two beautiful daughters, Julia and Virginia.

Predeceased by his parents Ernest Sr. and Margaret, and elder brother, Jon, he is survived by his loving wife, Deborah, beloved daughters, Julia and Virginia, sisters Meg Chambers, Anne Rockey, Lisa Bermel and husband John, brothers Patrick Rockey and wife Kathleen, Ernest Rockey and wife Clare, and Carroll Rockey, along with many adoring nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours will be held Friday, October 9th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Saint James Church, 115 E. Delaware Avenue, Pennington, NJ. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 10th at Saint James Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mark’s memory to the Schroon Lake Association or the University of Pennsylvania Melanoma Research and Patient Care Fund.
