Margaret Weakliem, 88, of Monroe, NJ, passed away on Feb. 27, 2017. Daughter of the late John and Margaret Foster, she was born in Jersey City, NJ. She grew up in Kearny, NJ, graduated from Kearny High School, and worked for Colonial Insurance as an insurance underwriter. In August 1955, Margaret married the late Herbert Weakliem, on what she often recalled was the hottest day of the year. After marriage, she worked at Mohawk Airlines. After raising a family, she worked for many years at Educational Testing Services before retiring in 1999. The Weakliems moved to Pennington, NJ, in 1960, and she lived there until after Herbert's death in 2015. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Pennington, was very active in the United Methodist Women and the Kleio Club. In retirement, Herb and Margaret enjoyed many trips to national parks in both the US and Canada, a cruise to the Galapagos Islands, and trips to Europe and Australia. They also enjoyed walking, lectures, concerts, and many other activities. Margaret is survived by her sister, Moira Crowell (Earl) of Kearny, NJ, and four sons scattered across the country, John (Jeannie) of Skillman, NJ, David (Judith Milardo) of Wethersfield, CT, Paul (Cheryl) of Santa Barbara, CA, and Gordon of Denver, CO. She is also survived by five nephews, Kenneth (Lili), Douglas, Alan, Peter, and Andrew, and six grandchildren, Brian, Allyson, Jonathan, Elaina, Isabella and Adalyn. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
