Margaret Elizabeth Booth, 91, of Holland, PA, died Saturday, February 15, 2014, at her home. Margaret was born April 9, 1922 in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, the elder child of Alice Liscomb and Chester Smith. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Albert F. Booth; her sister, Joan Smith Bain; and her dear aunt, Margaret Liscomb Gayder. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne Booth and Adam Finkel; her granddaughter, Maia Abigail Booth Finkel; her niece and nephew, Anne and Ryan Nordberg; her little great-nephew, Owen MacKenzie Bain Nordberg, and brother-in-law, Donn Bain. Margaret graduated from Niagara Vocational-Collegiate Institute in Niagara Falls, Ontario. She worked for several years as a legal secretary for the McBurney and Durdan law firm and then as secretary to the manager of the Cyanamid of Canada plant, both in Niagara Falls. She married the great love of her life in 1951 and moved to St. Albans, WV, in 1959 where she lived for 20 years. She and Al retired to Southern Pines, NC in 1979. Margaret became an American citizen in 1959 and took great pride in both her Canadian and American heritage. She was interested in genealogy, American country antiques, and bird watching. Her well-used and annotated Field Guide to North American Birds was found at her side after her death. Arrangements are being made by Blackwell Memorial Home in Pennington, NJ. Interment will be with her beloved Al at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Southern Pines, NC.
