Louis W. Hujber

Louis Hujber, 89, passed away into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus on January 8, 2022, in Titusville, NJ.

Louis is predeceased in death by his parents and siblings and is survived by his loving spouse of 61 years, Lucille Hujber (Gwiazdowski) of Titusville, his children Kevin Hujber of Jobstown, Audrey & Pepper Vareha of Ewing, Sharon & Ray Wilson of Ewing, Steven Hujber & Kate of Titusville, Maryann Hujber of Manville, Christine Hujber & Dave of Titusville, and Walt Hujber & Nikki of Titusville. Grandchildren Matt, Sarah, Samantha, Donald, Eva, Lindsay, Melanie, Kelly, Paul and Louis. And his little buddy Rusty.

After HIgh School Louis served two years in the Army where he had the opportunity to be based in Fairbanks Alaska and had the great fortune to serve his time with his twin brother, Donald. There, they learned the welding and sheet metal trade repairing tanks that served Louis for life. After the Army, he and his brother opened the Titusville landmark Drive-In, Hubers, that Don continued until his death. After marrying, Louis spent several years working for Marshall Maintenance in Trenton before starting his own metal fabrication and manufacturing shop that he operated until retirement.

Louis had a lifelong love of classic cars, starting at 16 when he and his brother purchased a 1919 Model T Ford touring car still owned by the family. A staple of the Titusville 4th of July parade, all of his children learned to drive this car. In addition to the Model T, Louis restored several other cars during his life and was actively working on a restoration project up until is short illness and death. The highlight of every year were our pilgramages to the Hershey Fall Car Show and Swap meet in Hershey PA - vending and scouring the flea market for the elusive car part became a family tradition.

Another of Louis' hobbies was collecting and restoring antique tractors, engines and farm implements. Louis became a member of the local Delaware Valley Old Time Power and Equipment Club shortly after it was formed and was an active member attending the annual show in Washington Crossing State Park every year.

Through his business, car collecting and antique tractor collecting Louis had a wonderful network of friends that shared these same hobbies. He looked forward to reconnecting every year at various shows and meets.

In later years, Louis enjoyed gardening with his wife, Lucille, raising every imaginable vegetable. He maintained a small orchard of peach trees as well. One of his greatest pleasures was to have his grandchildren over to pick fruit and vegetables. Through all of this Rusty was by his side.

Visitation will be Friday, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11:30 AM at St. George Church in Titusville, NJ. Burial will be 1 PM at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
