Judith Scymanski

Judith Scymanski (Card), of East Windsor, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3.

Born in Trenton, NJ and raised in Hamilton Twp., She was a resident of Ewing for 38 years before moving to Allentown and then East Windsor. She was a graduate of Hamilton High West and received an Associate of Arts Degree from Rider College for Medical Secretary.

Judy retired with 25 years of service from the State of NJ, having worked at The College of NJ and Department of Transportation.

She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ewing and later at the Allentown Presbyterian Church. Judy’s faith was precious to her, she especially loved her participation with the church youth group and choir.

Her lifelong friend said that, as children, when their teacher would ask “Would anyone like to…?”, Judy was always the first to raise her hand. She never wanted to miss out and she remained that way her entire life. She loved the beach, gardening, music, walking, swimming, map reading and travel.

Judy once wrote, in a letter to the local newspaper “…the events of September 11, 2001, made me realize that family, my faith and appreciation of life are more important than anything to me…”.  The recurring theme in her life was her love of family and friends. She always let people know, through her words and actions, how much she loved them. She once expressed how being around her grandchildren made her feel like a kid again.

She was predeceased by her husband Frank, her parents Cyrus and Gladys, and her older sisters Barbara (Jack) Wouters and Janet (William) Blauth, whose double wedding she cherished having served as flower girl. Judy is survived by a loving family, a daughter Diane Dungan (Mark) of Reading PA, a son David (Lynne) & three grandchildren, Sarah (Carlo), Shane & Michaela.

Visitation begins at 10:30 am, Monday, June 17th at the Allentown Presbyterian Church, Allentown, N.J. with a service to follow starting at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy’s name to Crossroads Youth Ministry or Allentown Food Pantry.
