Joy (Carpenter) Young passed away peacefully on May 16, 2020. She was born in Presque Isle, Maine, and lived in Colorado and New Jersey. She was loved by her family and friends. She worked as a bank teller in Mercerville and as a waitress also in New Jersey.
While in Colorado she received her CNA certification to work in a Nursing Home where her mother resided. And she also did In Home Healthcare.
Her favorite things to do were gardening and growing flowers. Living in Fruita, Colorado she won first place for her beautiful design of her household flowerings. She also was an avid singer in churches and choirs. While working at the nursing home they called her the singing laundry lady.
Baking was one of her specialties. She made the best cinnamon rolls money could not buy. She was also an avid reader of the Bible and romance novels.
Joy Young was the daughter of the late Martha Irene Watson and Ellory Leroy Clark.
She was predeceased by her husband Bennett Lee Young, one brother John D. Clark, daughter Gwendolyn Joy Kintner and son John Lee Carpenter. Joy is survived by her brother Jim Clark, Marilou and Joseph Roberts, Margo and Daniel Rapp, and Renee and George Hutton.
She also is survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
