John Norman Fowler passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025 surrounded by his family at the age of 62.
John is remembered by his mother Diane Williams, brother James Fowler and his wife Denise, sister Lynn Ervin, nieces and nephews Nicole Fowler, Matthew Fowler and fiancée Courtney Bartkowski, Brian Ervin, Jamie Ervin and fiancé Kyle Hannon, and great nephew Mason Hannon. He will also be missed by his long time friend Richard Castinira.
He is predeceased by his father Valentino "Buddy" Fowler.
John was born May 8, 1962, in Princeton and moved to Ewing where he graduated from Ewing High School in 1980. He worked in the restaurant industry for many years until he ultimately found his true calling as a Certified Home Health Aide at the Inpatient Center of Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice in Mt Holly. Known as "Johnny" or "Johnny Boy" by his coworkers at Samaritan who he loved like family, he touched the lives of so many patients and their families with his love, compassion and genuine care for them.
John's warm demeanor and great sense of humor made people feel special and loved. He always went out of his way to help anyone in need. His love for his family was unwavering and he spoke often about them with pride when he wasn't talking about his love for Dolly Parton. John was loved by so many and his generous spirit and kind heart left an impression on everyone he met.
He built a strong community through Alcoholics Anonymous, which helped him achieve and maintain his sobriety for more than 18 years.
In his free time, John enjoyed going to flea markets, thrift stores and yard sales collecting Lenox and other vintage treasures. He also loved baking treats for every holiday, specifically brownies, cornbread and cobbler.
His family wishes to send a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Intensive Care Unit at Helene Fuld Medical Center for their care and compassion.
A visitation service will be held on Saturday, March 1, from 12-3 pm at the Princeton Community Church, 2300 Pennington Road, Pennington, NJ.
Memorial donations may be made in John's name to Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice.
