John David Grant, 69, passed away in Merwick Rehabilitation Center, Plainsboro on Wednesday. He was born in Utica, N.Y. on October 20, 1945, and had been a resident of Hopewell for the past 32 years. He graduated from Olean High School, Olean, NY in 1953 and received his B.S in Chemical Engineering in 1968. from the University of Detroit. In 1970 he received a M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. In 2010 he received his M.A. In Theology from Seton Hall University. He worked for four major chemical companies including DuPont and Air Products . In 1975 he founded Guernsey Engineers, Inc.. He served as Laboratory and Waste Water Treatment director for the town of Tishing, MA. He was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate of the Trenton Diocese in 1999 and served the St. Alphonsus Parish. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus, Hopewell Council, No. 7103. Son of the late Albert M and Ruth Cavellier Grant, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bonita Craft Grant, a brother Terrance E. Grant and his wife Donna of Olean. .Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 20, at 11:30 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church 54 E. Prospect Church, Hopewell. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the church. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Alphonsus Church, 54 E.
