JoBetty Sked Johnstone, 80, of Pennington died in Capitol Health at Hopewell on Saturday. Born in Trenton, she had been a resident of Hopewell Valley for most of her life.
She was a graduate of Highstown High School. Before her retirement she was a Bookkeeper for Jaeger’s Supply in Ewing and Agrain, Inc. in Pennington.
She was active in many local organizations including both the Pennington & Hopewell Fire Auxiliaries, the Penelope Hart Chapter, D.A.R. and was a leader of both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Morning Star Lodge of Hamilton. She was a genealogist, especially interested in her family history.
Daughter of the late Charles W. and Jayne Garrett Sked and wife of the late George Dayton Johnstone, she is survived by a daughter, Patricia “Pat’ Johnstone of Three Bridges and a son, Charles “Chuck” Johnstone of Ewing. She is also survived by a brother, Robert Sked and his wife Dorothy of Kennebunk, ME and their children, Matthew and Kimberly Sked; her cousin Carmen Garrett and her spouse, Gail Vitale and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
