Joan C. Veth, 83, of Normandy Beach, died at the home of her son in Rosemont on Friday. She was born in Long Branch and had been a resident of Normandy Beach for 15 years , moving there from Pennington where the family resided for 47 years. She had worked in the family business, Auxiliary Service and Hardware Supply of Hopewell Township for many years and more recently was an administrative assistant with the Hopewell Valley School Board Office in Pennington. She was a member of the Rosary Society of St. Pio Catholic Church in Lavelette and the Normandy Beach Gardening Club. Her hobbies were sewing and gardening. Wife of the late Donald W. Veth, mother of the late Stephen Veth and James Veth and sister of the late Lois Bergmueller, she is survived by a son Donald C. Veth and his wife Diana of Rosemont , a daughter-in-law, Susan Veth of Sergentsville, t wo sist er s, Nor ma Hadam of Lake wood and Marilyn Dunleavy of Lavalette and a grandson Tyler C. Veth. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 11, at 11:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 115 East Delaware Avenue, Pennington. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Ringoes. Calling hours will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.on Wednesday at the Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 N. Main St., Pennington and at St. James Gathering Area on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass.
