James R. Stanton, 82, passed away April 1, 2024, in CHS-Hopewell.
Born in Aurora, West Virginia, he was a resident of Ewing for 52 years. A proud veteran of the Air Force, Jim held his service to his country close to his heart. His sense of duty and honor followed him throughout his life, embodying the values of service and sacrifice. Mr. Stanton retired after 37 years of employment with PSE&G. His integrity and reliability left an indelible mark on his colleagues and those around him.
Predeceased by his parents, Harvey and Josephine Stanton. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara (Burkhalter) Stanton, a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Eileen Stanton; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Dominic Battista; proud grandfather to James, Kelty, Jack, and Gio. Also surviving is a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Connie Miller.
His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 North Main St. Pennington, NJ (www.blackwellmh.com) from 4:00-5:45PM. A masonic service will be held Sunday at 5:45 at the funeral home. Family and friends can meet Monday, April 8, 2024 at 12 Noon for a funeral service at the Pennington United Methodist Church, 60 South Main St., Pennington. Burial will follow in Harbourton Cemetery.
