Hector Oliveto, 83, of Pennington, NJ, entered into God’s care Saturday, 25 June 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Hector came to the United States in 1956. He married Maria Pilar Inigo in New York City, had three children, and proudly became a U.S. citizen.
Hector worked many years for the architectural firm Wigton-Abbott. In 1971, he returned to Argentina, employed by Johns Manville and later by Akapol. He became a founding partner in Cayter Cielorrasos. Back in the USA in 1985, he resided in Whitehouse Station, NJ. As a Construction Manager for The Henderson Corp., he was involved in projects for Becton Dickinson, J&J, Merck, AT&T, and National Starch. He retired in 2000, but then oversaw construction for the non-profit Bonnie Brae School.
In 2009, Hector and his wife moved to Pennington, NJ, where they became parishioners at St. James Roman Catholic Church.
Hector enjoyed tangos, American standards, and Broadway musicals. He liked beach vacations, DIY, gardening, reading, swimming, traveling, and scrapbooking. A wise and affectionate man, he treasured the company of his colleagues, friends, and family, including his beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Juan and Maria Yolanda Galazzi Oliveto, and his older brothers, Vicente, Ricardo, and Osvaldo Oliveto, he is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Maria Pilar Inigo Oliveto; his son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Ryong Bae Oliveto; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Humberto Vivas, and his youngest daughter, Helen Oliveto.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 29, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 N. Main St., Pennington, NJ 08534. Funeral service will be celebrated 1:00 pm at the memorial home. Burial service will follow in Rural Hill Cemetery, 13 Old Highway 28 (corner of Mill Rd.), Whitehouse, NJ. www.blackwellmh.com
