Edwin L. Scheuerlein lived a long and happy life with his wife of 72 years passing away peacefully on April 4th, 2018 at the age of 97. Born in Brooklyn NY, he moved a number of times settling in the Pennington/Hamilton area in 2010. After serving in WW2 as a pilot, he built a career in management within the Aerospace Industry. He served as President of the Lutheran Church Council for many years and Chairman of their Building Committee. His life’s passion and pursuit was his family and his church. He instilled in his children and grandchildren the values of honesty, integrity, hard work and service to church and community, all with a heavy dose of humor. He was surrounded by a large and loving family all his life and leaves a legacy of strong family ties and family traditions.
Predeceased by his parents Louis and Henrietta, his sister Louise Jost, his brother Richard Scheuerlein, and his loving daughter Lynn Suzanne Witthoeft, Edwin is survived by his wife Carol Betty, his brother George and his loving children Roy Edwin and wife Andrea, Gayle Marie and husband Richard Jarvis, Susan Carol and husband Joseph Zienowicz, and Beth Ann and John Hart. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and son-in-law Henry Witthoeft. He will be remembered and missed by all.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 2:00-4:00PM at the Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 North Main St. Pennington, NJ. Burial will take place Monday April 9, 2018 at 9:00AM in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd. Newtown, PA.
