Doris D. Schenck passed on to her next chapter in life to join her partner and true love of 70 years Walter on April 4th at Brandywine Assisted Living in Pennington. Doris spent her early years in Hightstown later moving with her husband Walter to Pennington where they resided for many years. While in Hightstown, Doris worked in the Cashier's Office at the Peddie School in between raising her two daughters. Doris loved her group of friends or "The Gang" as they played cards and shared great meals and good times together, best of all, with Walter with whom they shared all life had to offer. Doris will be remembered as a "true lady", always noted for her dress and demeanor. She was loving and supportive, qualities that provided guidance and inspiration for those she knew. After the passing of Walter in 2007, she moved into Brandywine at Pennington where her love of life and those around her provided new friends, both residents and staff alike. While Doris cherished her family, she also took great joy in bringing happiness and "goodie bags" to her extended family at Brandywine. Doris is survived by her two daughters Carole Kimnach of Woodbridge CT and Sandra Cranstoun of Egg Harbor , WI, as well as six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a very special niece Beverly. A visitation is planned at the Blackwell Memorial Home in Pennington on May 1st from 5-7pm with graveside service at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hightstown on the 2nd at 11:00 AM.
