Agnes P. Kerr of Titusville, NJ passed away at home on Monday October 4, 2021. She was lovingly cared for by her family and her longtime aide, Lilly Karginova. Agnes, affectionally called Peggy, was born on December 26, 1922, in Jersey City, NJ but she grew up in Ringoes NJ where she worked on her family’s dairy farm. She married twice and had four children. During the war, Peggy worked as a riveter making planes in the General Motors plant in Ewing, NJ. Those who knew Peggy, will remember her steel memory where she could remember everyone she ever met and even recall their children by name. She had a passion for the Kissam/Kerr family history and prided herself on her excellent penmanship and good manners. She was even inclined to give out Emily Post's book of Etiquette on occasion. When the grandchildren came for a visit, you could be sure she would pull out paper and make them practice their cursive or recite the names of the Presidents and then quiz them on the States and their Capitols, helping the Kerr children to ace their geography tests!
She will be remembered for many things but mostly her family will continue to recite her Agnes-“isms”. One of her favorites is “Love many, trust few and always paddle your own canoe”. You will be missed. We love you and we know you love us MORE.
She is survived by her four children: Jeffrey S. Kerr of Lexington, Kentucky, Kathy K. Jacob and her husband Walter Jacob of Pennington, NJ, George R. Kerr and his wife Lynn Hartpence Kerr of Pennington, NJ and Samuel K. Kerr III and his wife Elisabeth Goeke Kerr of Titusville, NJ. She is survived by her brother Robert Perehinys and his wife Mary McCaffrey Perehinys of Ringoes, NJ. Pre-deceased by her husband Samuel K. Kerr Jr. and her first husband Jacob John "Jack" Specker, her siblings; Anastasia “Stellie” Skrebel, Joseph Perehinys, John Perehinys and her grand-daughter Evan L. Kerr.
Peggy was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 15 great grand-children and lots of wonderful nieces and nephews.
A private service for the family will be held in the future.
